Best Elden Ring Lvl 50 Faith Build Guide And Leveling Progression

Elden Ring Lvl 50 Faith Build Guide

The ultimate guide to progression from start to lvl 50 for a Faith character build in Elden Ring

In the vast and treacherous lands of the Lands Between, the strength of faith can be your guiding light through darkness and despair. If you’ve reached level 50 and are looking to focus on a Faith build, you’ve come to the right place. This guide will help you wield the divine powers to smite your enemies, heal your wounds, and turn the tide of battle in your favor. Whether you prefer incantations, sacred weapons, or a balanced approach, my Elden Ring Lvl 50 Faith Build Guide will show you the most powerful lvl 50 Faith setup, how to progress the Faith Build from the start in Limgrave and much more.

Starting Class for a lvl 50 Faith Build

There's two good starting classes for the faith build: Confessor and Prophet. The Confessor starts with higher strength and dexterity, so Uchigatana can be worn much earlier but the Prophet gets more Mind and Faith, as well as the Catch Flame skill which is really strong early on.

If you're a beginner, I'd recommend the Confessor, otherwise, if you like a slight challenge during the early game progression of the Faith build but a stronger mid game, then start as a Prophet.

Stats Progression for a lvl 50 Faith Build

Early game start

When you've just started out you will want to allocate stat points depending on your starting class. To wear the Uchigatana you will need 11 Strength and 15 Dexterity so allocate points in order to satisfy these requirements first. Afterwards, keep placing points between Vigor, Mind and Faith. You'll want to do a ratio of 2 Vigor, 1 Mind, 3 Faith every six levels.

Level 50+ Faith Build stat allocation

Prophet

  • 3x Strength (to wear Grave Scythe)
  • 2x Arcane (Dragon incantation requirements)
  • 18x Faith
  • 6x Mind
  • 16x Vigor

After level 50, keep pumping Vigor for the next 10 levels.

Confessor

  • 2x Strength (to wear Grave Scythe)
  • 3x Arcane (Dragon incantation requirements)
  • 20x Faith
  • 5x Mind
  • 10x Vigor

After level 50, keep pumping Vigor for the next 10 levels, then do a few points into Mind.

Weapons

With the lvl 50 Faith Build we're gonna be focusing on using a innate bleed stacking weapon and making it scale with holy damage by using Sacred Blade Ashes of War. This means that the weapon will hit more when you place points into faith, and it will also keep the bleed effect which is just insanely strong for killing bosses and overall game progression.

Main Weapon

When you start playing you'll have to grab the Whetstone Knife from the chest in Gatefront Ruins as we'll need it shortly. Afterwards, find your way towards the Deathtouched Catacombs, inside you'll find your first weapon, the Uchigatana!

Elden Ring Uchigatana

The Uchigatana can be found on a body, hanging from an upper platform in the catacombs. You need to use the lever in order to reach that room. Once you've found the weapon, level up in order to have enough stats to be able to equip it.

Next up we're gonna head over to the Third Church of Marika, behind it there's gonna be a Spiritspring with a Teardrop Scarab that must be killed because it will give you the main requirement of this lvl 50 Faith build— the Sacred Blade Ash of War. Once acquired, go to a site of grace and choose the Ashes of War option, pick the Uchigatana we previously acquired and choose Sacred Blade. There's gonna be a pop-up with "Affinity Granted" options now, which basically asks you what type of scaling you want the weapon to have. You'll need to pick Sacred Affinity here, as this will allow the weapon the scale with Holy damage and Faith as I previously mentioned.

After playing the game for a bit and reaching around level 50 you can grind a bit to acquire the new main weapon— Grave Scythe. The Grave Scythe is insanely strong and it has a much higher reach and poise damage than the Uchigatana.

Elden Ring Grave Scythe Weapon

To get the Grave Scythe you'll have to find Skeleton Mages and farm them until they drop it, it's quite a rare drop (2% chance) but it's SO worth it! You can find three of them at the Graveyard just a few seconds away from the Lake-Facing Cliffs site of grace, which you should have unlocked after defeating Godrick. Kill the Skeleton mages, teleport back to the site of grace, run back to the Graveyard again and kill them again. Repeat until the Grave Scythe drops, it took me like 30 minutes of grinding to get one, but it's gonna last a long time.

Since the Grave Scythe is just like the Uchigatana, without innate holy scaling, you'll have to remove the Sacred Blade Ash of War from the Uchigatana and place it on the Grave Scythe, once again choosing the Sacred Affinity. As this build progresses further than level 50, say at level 80-ish, you can start to transition into dual wielding Scythes (Grave Scythe in right hand, Winged Scythe in left hand— swapping to a seal when you need to cast spells, then back to Winged Scythe when you want to fight melee).

If you're too lazy to farm for the Grave Scythe, there's a slightly weaker alternative called "Scythe" which you can get near the end of the Cliffbottom Catacombs.

Other alternatives: Cross-Naginata, Nightrider Flail, Flail and the Bloodhounds Fang, basically anything with innate bleed. I personally would stick to using aforementioned scythes though.

Sacred Seal

There's only a few good Sacred Seals available to us early in the game. By choosing the Confessor or Prophet classes, you'll initially gain the Finger Seal.

Elden Ring Finger Seal Sacred Seal

The Finger Seal is going to be your main Seal from the start to about level 30-50 depending on how quickly you want to rush and acquire the next seal, which is the Godslayer's Seal.

Elden Ring Godslayers Seal Sacred Seal

Godslayer's Seal will be your main seal from this point until end-game, and even then it's considered one of the best sacred seals in the game so make sure it's upgraded. The Godslayer's Seal boosts Godslayer incantations, some of which we will be using.

To find the Godslayer's Seal you'll have to progress the Stormveil Castle, going to the Rampart Tower site of grace, go down until you find the Grafted Scion room. Find the exit to the courtyard with all of the exile enemies. Go left into a small stairway that goes underground and there you will find a room that is guarded by a few rats. In that room there's doorway that is blocked by a white fog, you will need to use a Stonesword Key on the Imp Statue to remove it. Inside the room there will be a chest that contains the Godslayer's Seal.

Armor

Elden Ring Best Level 50 Faith Build Armor Pieces

With the level 50 Faith Build you'll want to mostly focus on light to medium rolls so try to wear whatever gear combination you have that provides you with medium weight. Never wear armor that will push you to heavy equip load!

Here's a quick cheat-sheet of entire armor sets/their pieces you'll definitely want to use: Leather Set, Carian Knight Set, Royal Remains Set.

Early on you'll want to acquire the Leather Set by killing Patches and wear the Black Hood.

Next up, obtainable around level 30-50, my absolute favorite head piece is the Crimson Hood— it gives decent immunity, vitality and focus, while weighing close to nothing and also featuring a special effect, giving you 1 Vigor! One bonus point of Vigor may not seem like much, but the 50 bonus health it provides will prove very useful for quite a while. You won't really have extra endurance to wear anything else up until level 80-100 anyway.

To find the Crimson Hood you'll have to progress the Stormveil Castle (just like for the Godslayer's Seal), find the Grafted Scion room and in an adjacent room there's a pile of bodies that initially contained the Chrysalids' Memento quest item that you have to give to Roderika. After completing her questline, Roderika will drop the Crimson Hood on the same pile of bodies for you to collect.

Chest

As for the chest piece, early on wear the Leather Armor from Patches' Leather Set and then after exploring Raya Lucaria use the Carian Knight chest piece.

After you've progressed the game quite a bit, a new really good set of armor will be available to you— The Royal Remains. Royal Remains Set can be found at Roundtable Hold outside of Gideon Ofnir's room after being invaded by Ensha and killing her. You'll be wearing this chest piece for a while.

Arms

Once again we'll be wearing a part of the Leather set in the early game. The Leather Gloves are decent, but if you have access to better gloves that don't push your weight over medium, then go for it.

Next up wear the Carian Knight or Royal Remains gloves once you get access to them.

Legs

Lastly, in the early game you'll wanna wear a good piece of leg armor. If weight-strapped, use Leather Boots from Patches, otherwise Godrick Soldier greaves are good boots too if you have enough weight load. Replace them with Carian Knight boots after reaching Raya Lucaria.

Approaching the mid-game mark, around level 50, try to incorporate the Royal Remains boots into your armor set. Most likely you won't have enough equip load for them though so put some points into endurance above level 50.

Talismans

Elden Ring Best Level 50 Faith Build Talismans

In order of importance, you'll want to use Radagon's Scarseal, Radagon Icon and Two Fingers Heirloom talismans. Replace Radagon's Scarseal with Soreseal version once you've explored Caelid.

Incantations (Spells)

When you just start out the spell choices will be quite limited. If you've started with the Prophet class, your main bread and butter skill will be Catch Flame. Catch Flame is an insanely strong skill that you can use even in mid-game. In the event that you've started with the Confessor class then you won't start with Catch Flame and you'll have to buy it from the NPC in Roundtable Hold for 600 Runes. The second early game incantation I recommend using alongside Catch Flame is the Heal spell.

Acquirable a bit later on, The Flame of Frenzy is an excellent third slot spell that can be found in Weeping Peninsula, on a corpse by a pillar on the left side of the Callu Baptismal Church.

Level 50 Incantation Setup (5 Slots)

Elden Ring Best Level 50 Faith Build Incantations and Spells

The spell setup for a level 50 Faith Build goes like this:

  • Black Flame is arguably the most important skill in this Elden Ring level 50 Faith build. It deals tremendous amounts of damage and has a damage over time effect that scales with 5% of the target's maximum health, meaning it melts bosses. It easily deals with all types of enemies, from ghosts to humanoids and it has decent range as well. Using Godslayer's Seal also buffs the Black Flame's damage even further!
To get the Black Flame you'll have to get the Godskin Prayerbook in Stormveil Castle. It's in the same room as the Godslayer's Seal, which you can find in a room behind a fog that you need to remove using a Stonesword Key. After acquiring it go to Miriel at Church of Vows in eastern Liurnia, give it to him and then you can buy the Black Flame incantation from him.
  • Frozen Lightning Spear conjures a spear of frozen lightning, hurling it at enemies to deal significant area damage and potentially inflict frostbite, slowing down foes and making them more vulnerable to subsequent attacks. It drops from Dragonkin Soldier mini-boss of Nokstella.
  • Dragonfire/Rotten Breath are insanely strong Dragon incantations that deal a lot of single target and AoE damage. You can buy them from churches of Dragon Communion, though you'll need to have a Dragon Heart which drops from Dragons. You can kill your first Dragon in the Limgrave lake.
  • Lightning Spear hurls a lightning spear that has quick cast time and is very spammable. If you get it around level fifty it can two-shot most normal enemies which is crazy good considering how low FP cost it has. You'll have to purchase the incantation from Brother Corhyn or Miriel, Pastor of Vows after giving either of them the Dragon Cult Prayerbook which is dropped by a Leyndell Knight patrolling south of Artist's Shack site of grace in eastern Liurnia.
  • Urgent Heal/Flame, Cleanse Me are utility incantations that can sometimes come in handy. Urgent Heal is good when you want to heal up but don't want to waste Health flasks and Flame, Cleanse Me is an excellent skill for debuffing Poison/Scarlot Rot which you will start encountering around level 50+ Faith Build's progression. If you've started with the Confessor class you already have Urgent Heal, Prophets have to buy it from a NPC in Roundtable Hold for 1000 Runes. To get Flame, Cleanse Me both classes have to explore Liurnia's Fire Monk camp, southeast of the Church of Vows. It's located on a corpse inside that camp.
  • Blessing's Boon is a utility incantation that will give you health regeneration for about 90 seconds. It is extremely useful as you can use it before killing bosses. To get it you'll have to visit Miriel, Pastor of Vows at the Church of Vows in eastern Liurnia and buy it from him for 4000 Runes.

Consumables

As far as consumables go, with the Elden Ring lvl 50 Faith Build you should run about 60% Health Flasks and 40% FP Flasks— meaning if you have 10 Flask slots, do 6 HP and 4 FP.

The Flask of Wondrous Physick I like to use consists of Faith-knot Crystal Tear which boosts Faith and Opaline Bubbletear which significantly reduces damage received.

If you use summons, then the Wolves or Lhutel the Headless spirit ashes are excellent choices since they can tank a lot and keep the enemies busy.

Some additional consumables you may want to acquire are the: Lantern (useful for exploring caves that have no light) and Boiled Prawn (reduces physical damage taken, great pre-boss snack).
